Joe Biden completed his law studies in 1968 and after that he moved to Delaware where he started practicing in a law form. During this time he had also become an active member of the Democratic Party. Later in the year 1970, he was selected for the New Castle County Council and while working on it, he started his own law firm. Later in the year 1972, he won the election of the Senate and was elected a senator for 6 consecutive times.
