Ashneer Grover was born on 14 June 1982 in Delhi, India.

Education 

He completed his schooling from Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, and went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Delhi. He then completed his Chartered Accountancy from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). 

Career Journey

He joined Kotak Mahindra Bank as the Vice President, where he was responsible for financial control, planning, and business performance monitoring. In 2016, Ashneer left Kotak Mahindra Bank and joined Grofers, an online grocery delivery startup, as the CFO. At Grofers, he played a key role in raising funding and scaling the business. However, he left the company within a year to start his venture, BharatPe.

in 2019, BharatPe faced backlash from the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) for allegedly using the UPI interface without being a part of the payments ecosystem. However, BharatPe clarified that it was only acting as a technology service provider and not competing with banks.

In another incident in 2020, BharatPe was accused of stealing a merchant's payment data by a rival payments company. However, BharatPe denied these allegations and maintained that it had not engaged in any unethical practices.
